Hull’s Sausage Chow Mein

Ingredients

  • 225g chow mein noodles
  • 1 packet of your favourite Hull’s Sausage
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 bell peppers, thinly sliced (use a mix of colors for visual appeal)
  • 2 carrots, julienned
  • 2 cups shredded cabbage
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 60ml soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 120ml cup chicken broth
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the chow mein noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large wok, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add your Hull’s sausage and cook until browned and cooked through. Remove the Hull’s sausages from the wok and set aside.
  3. In the same wok, add another tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the sliced onion, bell peppers, and julienned carrots. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until the vegetables start to soften.
  4. Add the shredded cabbage and minced garlic to the wok. Continue to stir-fry for an additional 2-3 minutes until the cabbage is wilted.
  5. In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, and sugar. Pour the sauce over the vegetables in the wok.
  6. Return the cooked sausage to the wok and add the chicken broth. Toss everything together to combine and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  7. Add the cooked chow mein noodles to the wok and toss until the noodles are well coated with the sauce and the ingredients are evenly distributed.
  8. Continue to cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the noodles are heated through.
